After purchasing Feta cheese, you have to keep it refrigerated in its natural brine- if possible.

When you buy Feta cheese in bulk, it is better to keep it refrigerated in special airtight plastic containers to avoid contact with the air so as not to let off odours and prevent it from spoiling.

Moreover, bigger pieces of Feta are better kept than smaller pieces. Because Feta keeps its original flavour for short periods of time -even if it is kept under the former conditions, it is recommended that the consumer purchases Feta often and in appropriate quantities.

The new plastic packaging makes the consumer's life easier, since ‘Feta' cheese is preserved in its natural brine and can therefore be kept fresh for a longer period of time from the moment the pack is opened.

Many consumers, before using or serving Feta, are used to rinsing it with fresh water in order to remove its natural brine.
