Fresh Milk In Childhood

From the 2nd year of his/her life, the child needs foods rich in nutrients in order to develop and grow up properly. From this age on, fresh milk should become the staple ingredient of his/her nutrition, since it is one of the most complete foods. Fresh milk contains calcium, proteins of high nutritional value that allow tissues to build and regenerate, phosphorus which helps calcium metabolism, and vitamins (A, D, B1, B2, B6, C).

Calcium is a substance of vital importance which helps the bones to develop and the teeth to get strong. That's the reason it is essential to the growth of children's body. The recommended daily calcium dosage, at the infantile age, should be 500mg/day for children of 1-3 years of age and 800mg/day for children of 3-6 years old. The former quantities equal to 1-2 glasses and 2-3 glasses of fresh milk respectively.
